Welcome! My name is Jennifer Ligas, and I am the sole proprietor of Ligas Translation, LLC. I am a member of the American Translators Association and a native speaker of American English. The French language has been a major component of my life, and all of my higher education has been devoted to its study. Keep reading to find out more about my qualifications and the company.
About Ligas Translation
EDUCATION:
I obtained my bachelor's degree in French at the College of Wooster. I also hold two master's degrees: the first in French Language and Civilization from New York University (Paris, France program) and the second in French/English Translation from Kent State University's Institute of Applied Linguistics. Not only have I studied French for over half of my life, I have also taught French at the undergraduate and secondary levels. I have always had an avid interest in translation. My undergraduate independent study thesis and both of my master's level case studies dealt with the practical and theoretical aspects of translation.
I have experience in general, cosmetic, literary, scientific, legal/commercial, pharmaceutical/medical, marketing, luxury goods marketing, and tourism-oriented translation. I look forward to expanding my areas of expertise.
